This was my after Christmas cleaning. We are whirlwind for Christmas and it’s a lot of dump, go, dump, go, dump and go! So my room always becomes a dumping ground for all@the gifts so that I can organize them and put them away.

So obviously my room turned into a disaster. When it came time to clean it I knew that I wanted ti share, because I’m normal. I’m not perfect. This house is not spotless (literally never). And I wanted to share some of the mental load with you.

We have two major dumping grounds in our house and it’s the bottom of the stairs and the top of the stairs. Our entry and my main bedroom. I would love to mitigate all of that but I have no clue how to do that in this house.

When it comes to birthdays the amount of gifts and clutter that come into a home can be so overwhelming! So as an attendee I always try to make sure that I’m not bringing in excess clutter for mom to deal with.

Here is how I manage this:

✨C O N S U M A B L E S✨

Something they can use and throw away, not something they have to keep, or find a way to sell! Consumables are the answer for soooo many people that are “hard” to buy for! Here are some ways to get consumable gifts:

🛁Hygiene products! Soap, bubbles, bath bombs, shaving cream, shampoo and conditioners! These are all great options! They will use them and find them useful and then when they are gone they are out of your hair!

🎨Art supplies! An art kit, markers, paper, crayons, coloring books! You can do so much with arts and crafts and it’s easy for them to use and throw away!

🍿Movie night! Get some popcorn, a blanket, a movie gift card or the likes, some fun snacks, and gift it as a movie night! They will think it’s really cool!

🍨Gift cards to a local ice cream shop, or treat shop! Or even a box of treats from that shop! The kids will love it. Eat it and be done with it!

The best part is, if they loved it you can get them the same gift again the next year!

These are all really fun ways to have a fun gift but one that doesn’t create a bunch of clutter in your home! ❤️

Baby A cut her first tooth this week 😅

Baby A, I can already tell is going to be my biter baby. But man was that tooth coming through mean! She was so mouthy and crying. So toothbrush for the win!

This is such a good trick for sore gums! Just take all the left over foam from your milk and freeze it on a toothbrush! (A new toothbrush!) they will chew and chew and chew! It works every time!

Listen I’m sure you could use this deco cream to make something a little less tacky, but we were here for the fun!! 🤘🏻

I was #gifted a set of @shinymaemagic Deco Cream and I was pumped when it came in the mail! All the bright colors, all the fun add ons, and sooooo much creative potential. My kids begged for more things to decorate when we were done, so now I’m going to have to buy another set so we can make more things! 😂

Here is the craft that we made!

❤️I grabbed some simple picture frames from the $1.25 store (wish I would have invested a little more in the because they turned out so cute)

🧡Grabbed all the random beads in my house 🙃 we have a ton and they came in clutch! Letter beads were the most fun! Think Taylor Swift friendship bracelet style!

💛Cracked open my Shiney Mae Deco Kit! It came with everything we needed (minus the frames!)and were were ready to go!

💚Pro tip, throw a table protectant down 😂 it washes up fine but your kids are going to have so much fun they won’t care about your table! And have some wet wipes on hand for easy clean up if you get some in a spot you don’t want!

💙I had to help my 3 year old squirt out the cream, but my 6 year old was totally independent after she got the hang of it!

💜Then have a blast! Let your perfectionism fall to the wayside because as soon as we embraced the fun the picture frames turned out so much better!
